Workshop terms

Version 2026-11-05 · plain English, no small print

1. What you're sending

You're sending the Solidity source of a custom hook: a contract that the Hookium rules contract calls on every transfer of the coins that pick it. A hook may refuse a transfer by reverting. It must never hold, move or take anyone's coins or HYPE.

You confirm you wrote the code or have the right to submit it, and that it doesn't contain code you aren't allowed to share.

2. The fee

Submitting costs 0.2 HYPE, paid on chain to the Hookium fee wallet with the submission. It pays for a person to read the code.

The fee is not refunded if the hook is turned down, changed or withdrawn. Gas for the payment is yours.

3. The review

A reviewer reads every line. A hook can be turned down for any reason, including: it can lock holders out of selling, it can be changed or paused after launch by someone, it calls contracts we can't read, it costs too much gas, or it copies a hook that's already listed. You'll see the reason on the Workshop page.

We may ask for changes. A changed hook is a new submission.

Approval is a read, not an audit or a guarantee. Nobody, including us, promises a hook is free of bugs.

4. Deploying it

If you already deployed the hook on Elysium, give its address and we'll check the deployed code matches the source. If you didn't, we may deploy it ourselves from your source. The deployed contract is then approved on the rules contract and appears in the launch builder.

5. Once it's live

The source of an approved hook is shown publicly on its Workshop page, so anyone launching with it can read it.

We can stop new coins from picking a hook at any time (for example if a bug is found). Coins that already launched with it keep it: the rules contract fixes a coin's hook at launch, and nobody can remove it.

Builders aren't paid per launch today. If builder rewards come later, they apply to hooks approved from then on and are announced on the site.

6. Your responsibility

You're responsible for what your hook does. Don't submit code meant to trap buyers, drain funds or hurt anyone; doing so gets the hook revoked for new launches and the wallet barred from the Workshop.

Hookium runs on smart contracts that are new and unaudited on this network. Use of the Workshop is at your own risk.
